MicroTouch Controller - No Lights
This troubleshooting guide will help with your control not lighting up. There are a few trouble shooting tips that I will provide to you that will either resolve the issue or determine if any parts may need to be replaced.
The first thing that we will want to do is verify that the steam generator is receiving the correct power requirements. You will need between 208 – 240 volts for the generator to function properly. Depending on the size of your generator will determine if your unit is hardwired into the breaker box or if it will have a wall power supply. Any unit lower than a 240 unit will have a wall plug, any unit higher than a 240 unit will have power cable hardwired into breaker box.
You may need an electrician to verify the voltage going to the unit as this must be tested at the breaker the generator is attached to.
If there is not enough voltage being supplied to the generator, your electrician should be able to assist you on this issue.
If you have verified that the unit is receiving the correct voltage
urn off the power to generator and remove the access panel from the front of the generator.
Look at the pins on the PC board as well as the lead that the yellow data cable will plug into.
Do you see any bent pins? If you find any bent or damaged pins STOP HERE we will need to replace your PC board. Please call us at 800.776.0711.
If no damaged or bent pins are found please re-attach the yellow data cable by tightening the cable attachment bracket to the control post. Hand tight the connection then "push-in" the cable attachment bracket slightly more to assure the connection.
PLEASE NOTE: The cables are “keyed” and they need to line up accordingly
Once fully connected, inspect the entire yellow data cable run to make sure there is no damage anywhere. If you find any damage to the the yellow data cable you will need to call us to order a replacement. Please call us at 800.776.0711.
If no damage was found to the the yellow data cable let's try one more thing.
Please locate and remove the controller from the wall inside of the shower. To do this, you will need to use a tool to remove the water-proof silicone seal that surrounds the outskirts of the control. Please be careful not to damage the controller or the cable.
IMPORTANT please do not cut any cables while removing the control from the wall as this will void your warranty.
Once you have removed the controller please inspect the receptacle that the yellow data cable plugs into. Check for any damaged pins.
If you do find damaged or bent pins then we will need to replace the control. Please call us at 800.776.0711.
If you do not see any bent or damaged pins then please reattach the cable. Hand tight the connection then "push-in" the cable attachment bracket slightly more to assure the connection. Restore power to the unit and see if the control is lit up.
If your controller still will not respond, contact ThermaSol at 800-776-0711.
